Raising Poultry and Processing Eggs

In 1974 Kevin Demler and his father Edmund purchased a 120,000 layer and pullet ranch just northeast of San Diego. Five years later, Kevin and his wife Mary bought the ranch from his dad and Pine Hill Egg Ranch was on its way to a remarkable journey of success.

Today the ranch has grown to 1,300,000 birds producing 15,000 cases of eggs each week. Most are distributed nationally (locally within southern California), but some are still sold at their roadside shop to appreciative neighbors and visitors.

Kevin, Mary, and sons Andrew, Anthony and Alex love the ranch, the area and the people.  They are passionately committed to ensuring the family business thrives for generations to come – with the help of American AgCredit, their financial partner since Edmund became a member more than 65 years ago.

“We wouldn’t be where we are today without American AgCredit,” Kevin says, “they’ve helped us so much, especially with construction of modern, larger, more spacious brooding facilities.”

Future plans include constructing additional colony buildings, a new processing plant, and a cage free brooder building.

And American AgCredit will be there with the Demlers. Every step of the way.
