Business Experience: My professional career and board service are grounded in a long-standing commitment to agriculture, sound financial management, and responsible governance. As a lifelong agribusiness owner and community leader, I bring practical, hands-on experience that aligns closely with the responsibilities of serving on the American AgCredit Board of Directors. For more than 25 years, I have been a partner in Alamo Dairy and Alamo Farms, overseeing the financial and operational management of a diversified agricultural enterprise. Managing a dairy and farming operation of this scale requires disciplined financial planning, risk management, and long-term capital decision-making. During this time, I have helped expand herd size, crop acreage, and productivity while navigating market volatility, regulatory compliance, labor challenges, and environmental constraints. This experience has provided a strong understanding of agricultural finance and the critical role that reliable credit and flexible capital structures play in sustaining and growing agricultural operations.

Complementing my business background is more than a decade of public board leadership on the Turlock Irrigation District Board of Directors. TID delivers irrigation water and electric power to thousands of growers, residents, and businesses across California’s Central Valley. My involvement in major capital projects—including power generation, transmission infrastructure, and water conservation initiatives—has strengthened my ability to evaluate large-scale investments, assess risk, and balance diverse stakeholder interests. This governance experience has reinforced the importance of regulatory compliance, transparency, fiduciary discipline, and long-term stewardship. Together, my experience as a producer, business manager, and board leader provides a balanced perspective well suited to AAC’s mission and the responsibility of safeguarding the cooperative’s financial strength on behalf of its member-owners.

Strategic & Visionary Thinking: I bring a strategic, forward-looking perspective to the American AgCredit Board grounded in real-world agricultural leadership. As a longtime partner in Alamo Dairy and Alamo Farms, I manage complex financial, operational, and risk-management decisions across dairy and farming operations, giving me a practical understanding of the capital needs facing today’s producers. My experiences have further strengthened my ability to think long term and balance competing priorities.

Corporate Governance: I bring broad corporate governance experience to the American AgCredit Board through my long-standing service on both the Turlock Irrigation District and American AgCredit boards. Since joining American AgCredit Board in 2016, I have helped guide the organization through complex regulatory, financial, and strategic environments while maintaining a strong focus on member value and fiduciary responsibility. I have served as the chair and vice chair of the Governance Committee.

Financial Expertise: I have a strong financial and investment mindset built on decades of managing capital-intensive agricultural and public-utility operations. As a partner in Alamo Dairy and Alamo Farms, I oversee budgeting, debt management, capital planning, and long-term investment decisions in a highly cyclical and risk-sensitive industry. My work on the Turlock Irrigation District Board has further deepened my experience with large-scale financial oversight, including rate setting, infrastructure financing, and responsible stewardship of public and member-owned assets.

Communication: I am an effective and trusted communicator who bridges the perspectives of producers, public agencies, and financial institutions. Through my service on both the Turlock Irrigation District and American AgCredit boards, I regularly engage with growers, customers, regulators, staff, and fellow directors on complex and often sensitive issues involving water, power, finance, and governance. My hands-on background in dairy and farming allows me to translate technical, financial, and regulatory topics into clear, practical terms that resonate with agricultural producers. This ability to listen, synthesize diverse viewpoints, and communicate with clarity and credibility makes me a strong advocate for members and a constructive, solutions-oriented voice on the board.

Technology: I have a practical, technology-driven mindset. At Alamo Dairy and Alamo Farms, I have overseen the adoption of modern production, data, and management technologies to improve efficiency, sustainability, and financial performance. Through my board services I have supported investments in advanced utility systems, data platforms, and infrastructure that improve service, reliability, and decision-making. I am very supportive of technology not as a trend but as a strategic business tool helps ensure that American AgCredit remains innovative, competitive, and responsive to the evolving needs of its members.

Human Resource Management: Employees are the lifeblood of any business. Managing employees can be the most challenging part of owning a business, but that is why human resource management is so critical. I’m directly involved in all employee matters at Alamo Dairy and Alamo Farms. I have also participated in these tasks for several of the Boards I served on over the years. I also understand how important it is to have current knowledge of ever-changing laws and regulations and how that ultimately affects the bottom line of business.

Risk Management: I believe in a disciplined and experienced approach to risk management. As a partner in Alamo Dairy and Alamo Farms, he manages exposure to commodity markets, weather, labor, regulatory compliance, and capital risk while keeping operations financially sound. His board service further strengthens my ability to evaluate enterprise-level risks, from infrastructure investment and credit exposure to regulatory and market uncertainty. A sound risk management strategy helps to ensure long-term success.

Leadership: I am a steady, respected leader who brings both vision and accountability to the American AgCredit Board. Through my leadership roles at Alamo Dairy and Alamo Farms, I have guided our farm through growth, market cycles, and operational change while keeping people aligned around shared goals. I tend to lead through collaboration, thoughtful decision-making, and a strong sense of fiduciary responsibility. My leadership style—grounded in integrity, experience, and long-term thinking—helps build trust, drive consensus, and position organizations for lasting success.
