For more than 100 years, we have been serving the financial needs of farmers and ranchers throughout our territory. Our partnership with Rural 1st increases the range of financing solutions available to our customers.

Through this relationship, loans are available to rural customers who may or may not have an agricultural use for the land. If you’re unsure if a rural home loan is appropriate for you, or if a traditional agricultural loan would be a better fit, don’t hesitate to call us and we can help point you to the right solution.

There are four types of rural home loans, each of which is designed to solve for a particular financing need.

Rural Home Loans

Buying a home or land in the country comes with special requirements. Unlike traditional lending, the rural home loans program is designed specifically to meet the needs of country home and rural property owners. Here’s what that means for you:

  • Large acreage qualifies.
  • Residential and agriculturally zoned properties are eligible.
  • Income-producing properties are eligible.
  • Barns, shops, outbuildings or riding areas can be included in the appraised value.
  • Custom, modular, log and manufactured homes are eligible.

Home Lot Loans

If you’ve found the right property for your rural home but you’re not ready to build, applying for a future home site loan might be a perfect fit. Whether you’re looking at bare land, raw agricultural land or simply an undeveloped site that you envision building a house on later, you can take the first step by applying for a lot loan.

  • Residential and agriculturally zoned properties are eligible.
  • Improvements like power, well and septic are not typically required.
  • Purchase and refinance programs are available.
  • When you’re ready to build, simply switch your lot loan into a construction loan (and save money with fewer fees).

Construction Loans

You can finance every step of your country home project with one convenient loan. From purchasing the land to building your home and making improvements, the one-step construction loan can help simplify the whole process of financing your rural home.

  • Just one loan, one set of fees and one closing.
  • Renovations, remodels and outbuildings are eligible.
  • Flexible time periods and interest-only monthly payments during construction offer more cash flow during the building process.
  • Interest rates are locked during construction.
