As a member-owned cooperative, American AgCredit encourages eligible stockholders to take an active role in governance. Stockholders can help shape the future of the Association by serving on the Board of Directors or the Nominating Committee, or by recommending qualified candidates for these important leadership roles that guide the Association’s future direction and support its mission to serve agriculture. Stockholder elections are held annually.
The Board of Directors represents American AgCredit stockholders and provides oversight of the Association’s strategy, direction, and overall governance. The Board works with executive leadership to support the long-term success of the Association while serving the interests of stockholders.
The AAC Board of Directors is made up of 16 elected and 4 appointed directors. Directors are elected to serve five-year terms.

The Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and nominating qualified candidates for the Board of Directors and future Nominating Committees. The Committee helps ensure that qualified candidates are available to serve, and that governance leadership reflects the diversity of the Association’s territory and customer base.
The Nominating Committee is made up of up to 14 members. Committee members are elected by stockholders and serve one-year terms. The Committee operates independently of the Board and Association management and elects its own leadership.
Serving on the Board of Directors or Nominating Committee is an opportunity to represent fellow stockholders, contribute to the future of American AgCredit, and support the success of agriculture and rural communities.
