We are pleased to congratulate the winners of the 2021 Farm Credit and Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) VIP Scholarship. This competitive academic scholarship provides special programming for outstanding MANRRS students who have expressed an interest in Farm Credit and ag-related studies.

Nicole Ng, a student from San Jose, CA, is among the 30 students across the nation who earned the scholarship. She is a second year animal science major at the University of California, Davis.

“My career aspiration is to become a veterinarian and to increase animal welfare through healthcare and research,” said Nicole. “MANRRS and Farm Credit have provided me with endless support and mentorship, and have helped me grow as a student and a leader.

“They have shown me that despite all the challenges that come with being a first generation immigrant and underrepresented student (#StopAsianHate), I should keep fighting for my dreams and I always have people rooting for me. The Farm Credit/MANRRS VIP Scholarship Program has also helped me grow as a leader through VIP Scholar sessions focused on leadership and professionalism, and individual meetings that allowed me to get personalized advice and mentorship from some awesome Farm Credit employees! I am truly grateful to be a Farm Credit Scholar and hope others will benefit from this program as much as I did.”

Scholarship recipients receive a $1,000 academic scholarship and the opportunity to participate in the Farm Credit VIP Track of the 2021 National MANRRS Conference.

“Congratulations to Nicole! We’re excited to partner with MANRRS on this important initiative. American AgCredit offers a wide variety of careers and we hope MANRRS students and others will consider joining our team upon graduation,” said Rich Hollis, Chief People Experience Officer at American AgCredit.

The VIP Track provides the scholars with meaningful interactions with Farm Credit leadership. It also exposes students to information about careers at Farm Credit in fields including finance, credit, capital markets, informational technology, marketing and more. Students benefit from leadership development and training to better prepare them to find and succeed in a career in the agriculture industry.
